Explore the History of King City

Stop by the King City Visitors Center and pick-up a booklet for a self-guided walking tour of historic Highway 101 in downtown King City. Along the way you’ll come across a wide-range of buildings, constructed as the City was unfolding, that housed everything from cafes to banks to mercantiles to, plus a high school and a hospital, as well as a hotel, auto garage and newspaper.

The Robert Stanton Theater

Don’t miss the Robert Stanton Theater at King City High School, not on the tour but just down the way. Built in the 1930s under Works Progress Administration program, it is a remarkable example of Art Moderne style, with the added bonus of distinctive art by Jo Mora.
